Winona Deck & Fence provides residential deck building, fence installation, and related outdoor construction services in Winona, MN and surrounding communities. Services include but are not limited to custom deck design and build, composite and wood deck installation, deck repair, fence installation, pergola installation, screened porches, and covered decks.
All services are subject to a written agreement or proposal accepted by both parties before work begins. We reserve the right to decline any project request at our discretion.
Written estimates provided by Winona Deck & Fence are based on conditions observed at the time of the site visit and the scope of work described. Estimates are valid for 30 days from the date issued unless otherwise stated.
If unforeseen conditions are discovered during the course of work - such as deteriorated framing, non-standard construction, or site conditions not visible at the time of estimate - we will notify you before proceeding with any work that would increase the cost. We will not perform out-of-scope work without your written or verbal approval.
Final pricing is confirmed in the written contract or proposal signed before work begins. Verbal estimates are approximate and not binding.
Project start dates are scheduled based on crew availability, permit timelines, and material lead times. We will communicate your estimated start date before you sign a contract. Start dates may shift due to weather, permit delays, or material availability, and we will keep you informed if that happens.
If you need to cancel or postpone a scheduled project, please notify us as soon as possible. Deposits are generally non-refundable once materials have been ordered. The specific terms for your project will be outlined in your written contract.
We reserve the right to suspend or reschedule work due to unsafe weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, high winds, or precipitation that would compromise worker safety or work quality.
Payment terms are specified in the written contract for each project. In general, we require a deposit before work begins and final payment upon completion. For larger projects, a progress payment schedule may apply.
Accepted payment methods will be communicated at the time of contract. Invoices not paid within the time period stated in your contract may be subject to a late fee.
If a dispute arises regarding payment, the parties agree to attempt resolution in good faith before pursuing legal action.
When required by local ordinance, Winona Deck & Fence will obtain applicable building permits before work begins. Permit fees are included in the project estimate unless otherwise noted. The customer is responsible for ensuring legal access to the property and for disclosing any known easements, underground utilities, or restrictions that could affect the project. Inspections required by the permit are coordinated by us as part of the project.
Winona Deck & Fence warrants that work will be performed in a professional manner consistent with industry standards. Specific warranty terms - covering workmanship and any applicable manufacturer warranties on materials - will be stated in your written contract.
Warranties do not cover damage caused by misuse, neglect, unauthorized modifications, acts of nature, normal wear and tear, or failure to follow maintenance recommendations. Wood products in particular require periodic maintenance (sealing, staining) to maintain their condition, and failure to maintain them may void workmanship warranties.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Winona Deck & Fence shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our website or from any service we perform, including but not limited to lost profits, loss of use, or damage to property not directly caused by our negligence.
Our total liability for any claim arising from a specific project shall not exceed the total amount you paid us for that project.
